Exposing young minds to Africa through Young Writers’ Lab
The two weeks’ intensive writing workshop where 10 writers become residence artists working with professional writers in producing plays working from their existing works culminates in a script-reading session and dialogue with the audience.
A 10-month programme where children are trained during weekends on different art forms by different trainers from diverse backgrounds in South Africa and on the continent, it builds up to a children’s festival in November.
It’s a three-month programme, in partnership with Durban AFDA, that focuses on training the youth in acting and writing in order to tell authentic stories from the African perspective.
In the four weeks of music masterclasses conducted by music maestros such as Madala Kunene, Mbuso Khoza, Sibongile Khumalo, Themba Mkhize and music organisations such as SAMRO and KHUMISA, artists are moulded for both music excellence and business.
Schools are a major part of audience development. Investing in the future audience, we offer schools with set works, African stories and introduce them to African symbols. It entails live performances of set works, African stories and special themes for primary and high schools.

In-class collaboration between artists, and arts and culture educators to equip teachers with skills to teach arts with confidence.
Youth Entrepreneurial Opportunities Workshops
The youth is trained on rights and contracts, marketing and publicity, IT in the arts, arts as a business, financial literacy, handling the media, funding and branding.
Youth Heritage Enrichment
Cultural heritage tours for schools to teach children about Pan Africanism, African symbols, African artists and crafts is at the core of this programme
It’s a six-month mentorship programme on African fashion, interior design, shows/exhibitions that culminates in an Afro chic show that showcases the fashion and crafts of the continent.
The nine-month photography programme is meant to skill learners in digital media to narrate stories through photography.
